My name is Sue and I live in Northern NSW Australia.
I own and operate Scarlet Begonias Retro, and I work out of my studio and showroom in Byron Bay Industrial Estate.
A couple of years ago I was extremely lucky to meet somebody who had purchased a 5 level warehouse in Melbourne, that was filled to the brim with vintage fabrics, still in their original packaging!
Untouched for over 50 years, these luxurious materials were just patiently waiting to go to new loving homes such as
mine!
This was completely a fantasy of mine to come true, and not
likely to happen again, so I bought up as much as I possibly
could.
This is the main fabric I use now!

I am thrilled with the beautiful and original skirt from Scarlett Begonias Retro. Scarlett sources gorgeous retro prints and natural fabrics for her designs. It is well worth a visit to her design studio where you will find Scarlett at the sewing machine doing her magic creating an original range of clothes and textiles for home such as vintage table cloths.
We discovered this beautiful store on holidays in Byron and my wife absolutely fell in love with the amazing handmade vintage designs. My wife proudly displays her Scarlet Begonias pieces side by side with her designer items and the quality and craftsmanship in each piece is honestly on par with clothes she sees on the runways. And superb customer service always!!
